An Instance of Translation Methods of Avestan Texts to Pahlavi, Sanskrit and Persian Languages (Khorshid Niyāyišn)

Abstract
Khorshid Niyāyišn is the first prayer of Khorde Avestā Book. Between 700-900 CE, its Pahlavi’s interpretation and translation was written and Nēryosang, in 1200 CE, translated it to Sanskrit. The Prayer's Sanskrit writing which is more recent, called "Sanskrit-Parsi".This writing without Pahlavi’s version is not intelligible, though apparently, Nēryosang had considered the main Avestan Text. Its Persian translation has been provided between 1600-1800 CE. The Pahlavi’s translator was not completely successful in rendering Avestan Text and Sanskrit’s translation often follows the translation of the Pahlavi’s Text word by word and  the Persian translation is the same. Altogether, different translations from Avestan Text of the Khorshid Niyāyišn which is the subject of this essay, shows that Pahlavi’s translators, more or less, has resorted to literal translation, and Sanskrit and Persian translators had been considered Pahlavi’s interpretations and translations much more than Avestan Text.
