Linguistic typology focuses on both language universals and linguistic variations. Implicational universals in typology have semantic, pragmatic, discourse, processing and cognitive explanations. Typology has various uses in linguistics. Studying the structure of different languages, including ancient languages, can help completing the classification of languages. This article provides an overview of typological study about Avestan language. The purpose of this study was to determine the word order of Avestan language of Vandidad, based on Dryer's 24 typological components.
